1942 WWII USS O'Brien Torpedo War Damage Loss Report Book Vintage 1943 Navy Naval Operations

This is a U.S.S. O'Brien (DD415) Torpedo Damage and Loss from Sept 15 - Oct. 19, 1942 in the South Pacific. It is dated June 24, 1943 and is War Damage Report No. 28. Put out by The Commander-in-Chief, United States Fleet and Chief of Naval Operations, it was designed to be a confidential report only to be shown to those it would be of value.

The beginning of the report is a summary of what happened and then a detailed account following, 14 pages in length. Following that are 9 photographs showing various photos of the ship and the damage done by the torpedo. The end of the report has three fold out plates: Profile of Damage, Reinforcing Structure and Repairs to H.M.S. Ilex.

Condition is complete and clean inside. Cover has a pen drawing on the back and the top corners of the pages are curled.
