Antique The Shadowy St. Joe by Augusta Anderson Photo Album Book, Idaho ca: 1910 Historical Photographs

Sorry, this item has sold.

The Shadowy St. Joe by Augusta Anderson from about 1910. This book has black and white photo illustrations (majority are full-page), 9 1/4 x 12 1/4 inches, color pictorial paper wrappers (softbound) with cord tie. A fascinating collection of photographic images along the St. Joe River and Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho including: Depot at Coeur D'Alene, Coeur D'Alene Pier, Ferril Hotel and Landing, St. Joe Hotel and Steamer Idaho, Hotel Riverside at Riverside Landing, Little Falls, Flewellyn Company's Store, Pack Train with "Grub" Ready to Start for the Mines, Highest Point of Mount Baldy, Cabin Where "Black Joe" Was Shot, etc.

There is no publication date, but the introduction states: "Eight years ago a village of 500. Today a city of over 8,000..." which would suggest a date of 1910

The book has a slightly rolled and tattered spine, front right corner of cover is dog eared, small tears along edges of cover. A spot of something near the mountain tops on cover, light water staining along each page, but not bad and it does not interfere with images at all. There is some pencil writing on 1st inside blank cover page that has been erased. I tried to give an idea of the worse of the water staining and the pencil on 1st page in the last photo.
Overall intact, complete and presentable.
