1800s Half Plate Daguerreotype Photo Man and Woman Portrait With Case, Black & White

An antique half plate daguerreotype (I believe ) from the 1800s portrait of a man and woman with original case. The photo has an ornate gold toned frame over it, and the inside of the case top is a velvet type material.
Closed the case measures approximately 6" x 4.75" (15.24 cm x 12.07cm).
Condition: The photo has flaking as shown. The frame has soiling and marks. The case shows soiling, along with spine, corner and edge wear and tears. One of the latches is missing also. Please see all nine photos.
