This is an antique Native American stone celt, spade or hoe.
It measures approximately 5.75" long x 3" wide.
In 1941 the owner sent this specimen, along with several others to the University of Washington, Washington State Museum in Seattle to get information on their authentication. This piece was labeled #6 and written on the stone as shown.
I've included a picture of the letterhead with date, as well as the line of information given for this particular artifact, of which nothing definitive could be said or found.
