This is an antique Native American stone axe head.
It measures 6.5" long and about 3" wide at the widest point.
In 1941 the owner sent this specimen, along with several others to the University of Washington, Washington State Museum in Seattle to get information on their authentication. This piece was labeled #1 and written on the stone as shown.
It is noted to resemble figure 87 in the document by Gerald Fowke "Stone Art" from the 13h Annual Report, Bureau of American Ethnology. I've included a picture of the letterhead with date, as well as the line of information given for this particular artifact.
